The saying 'if walls could talk' is perfect for Wakulla Springs! The history that lives at Edward Balll Wakulla Springs State Park doesn't just stop at the lovely Wakulla Lodge (built in the 1930s) home to with the oldest still-working elevator in Florida and world's longest marble bar (70ft 3in) but continues well into the depths of the namesake first magnitude spring. Did you know that Wakulla Spring is the largest and deepest freshwater spring in the WORLD producing over 300 million gallons of water in a single day?! But we can't talk about Wakulla without mentioning its place in Hollywood history with several major motion pictures being filmed here including two Tarzan films (1941 & 1942) and Creature of the Black Lagoon (1954).
